Average for Chinese restaurant
Great value Chinese food, fast service, friendly cashier and very delicious. The lunch special is 7$ and for $0.50 more you can get a soup, egg roll or a drink.
This place is the one I always prefer. I visit many restaurants but to this one I constantly return again and again. The stuff is very professional and the food they serve is so delicious. I never decline to have a good meal here. I highly recommend this place.
We stopped here for a quick lunch after a nearby open house. The wonton soup was only $1.75 and delicious (no MSG headache), and generous wonton portion. The beef and broccoli was sautéed nicely and the beef perfectly textured (not too chewy, and not too soft). Delicious!
If I can give it a 10 star, I would. It's that good. A small place and packed. Again, it's that good.
One of the few authentic shanghainese places in DMV. Best Xiao long bao and steamed sticky rice dumpling.
Very genuine, good steam buns and pan-fried buns with juicy stuffing inside (made from pork skins, only available during weekends). You know it’s great if you have been/lived in China. If you’re a vegetarian you won’t be able to enjoy those since the veggie buns are without the soup inside, but try the noodles instead (they are made usually without MSG too). On Saturdays it will get really busy and you could end up with sharing a big table with someone else, but totally worth it. Bring a Chinese friend unless you’re familiar with the art of eating soup-buns.
Really good food. Authentic. Not too expensive and good portion.
Travelled way out of DC for the famed pan-fried pork dumplings. It's one of the few places in the US that actually makes them (but only on weekends). They were good but half of them didn't have any soup inside, and we're more bready than the ones you'd find in Shanghai. That said, this place does have alot of dishes that would be hard to find in other restaurants serving Shanghai fair. A very authentic establishment, but the dumplings are just slightly off mark.
Every portion is so small and tiny not even to the price. Wonton is the worst I've ever had comparing to hundreds Chinese restaurants. Barely has 'meat' wrapped in wontons but only wonton skin you can taste. Same as dumplings. 100% Shanghai style. Awful business strategy. Will never order from here again.
My favorite Chinese restaurant. Almost a hole in the wall. Place is small, there is always a line on weekends. I definitely recommend.
A previously undiscovered gem! I’d driven and walked right by this location for nearly 15-years before trying it for the first time — now it’s our favorite Chinese restaurant, even if it takes us over 20-miles from home.Awesome food, period. However, be aware... the General Tso’s Chicken here is NOT your normal go-to comfort food — it packs HEAT! And their dumplings are to die for.The location is kinda run-down and dingy looking, but the food is tops. The menu is extensive and relatively inexpensive compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. The food comes out to the table as it is ready, not kept under a hot lamp to be assembled for a single delivery, so the dishes arrive in a staggered fashion. The dumplings take awhile to prepare and cook, so for us they are always the last thing to be delivered to the table.Highly recommended!.
Great place, authentic food, amazing dumplings, fast service, good people. I’ve ordered from here 2 dozen times in the last year for my significant other and for my coworkers and it’s always worked out well. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough.
If you've never had soup dumplings then do yourself a favor and come here and try them! pictured but I come here for the soup dumplings. In the rockville area, there isnt a more affordable and legitimate soup dumpling. If you think Bob's Shanghai has good soup dumplings (soooooooo over priced) then you need to come here. For less than 14 dollars, we got 2 orders and each order had like 7 or 8 dumplings! (At Bob's it was like 16-18 for 6 per order). The wontons were also really good; soaking in delicious chili oil concoction its a nice treat. I would definently recommend this place. I got some other things too, but my friend who speaks chinese ordered them and I didnt get a chance to ask them what the other dishes were called. Recommend! Especially if youve never had soup dumplings!
Bad customer service.I just left after spending 65$, tip 5$ and they were so in a rush to kick me out of there as soon my order was ready. They didn’t put my drinks in a bag.Another customer came in and the first thing that the front desk lady say is that they close. But the time was 9:12 at the moment and the hours till 9:45.You lost good customer who spent an average of 150$ a week in your place.
Wish there was more broth in the dumplings and little less dough. Pretty awesome to have them fried.
Ordered from the speciality menu and were underwhelmed with the taste. But we saw other customers eating more interesting meals. Language barrier was an issue when ordering. Next time I show pictures is the meals from google. We will be back to try some of those other meals.
AMAZING! Soup dumplings, stir fried string beans, chili oil wontons, fried soup dumplings (only available on weekends), and shredded beef and pepper noodles are my favs. They are fast, inexpensive, and their food quality surpasses any nearby.
